ABOUT

The project is taking place in the area of Kampos, in central Chios island. The area has more than 200 mansions dating back to medieval and Genoese occupation of the island in 13th century and the current legislation places the area under strict protection of protocols and legislation, in terms of architectonic interventions. The property used to be a single-storey residential building, with stone walls and flat concrete roof. The scope of the project is to restore the property, by minimizing any alterations, that could affect the architectonic features of Kampos, add a timber roof with ceramic tiles and deliver a proposal that both meets the modern criteria of a residential building, plus follow the strict legislation of the particular area of Kampos.
