Curated art for the discerning but broke collector.

Happy to say that The Broke Collector has had a revamp! I started this project back in 2019 to help people find real art gems hiding in quieter corners of the internet. I’ve cleaned the slate, and this new evolution leans more into original, one-of-a-kind works and limited-edition pieces, all under $1,500. I’ll be adding more each week (hopefully), so if you have any suggestions, let me know (or submit via the About page).

????️ How I made it:
— Designed the site in Figma (yes, still doing it the old-school way when I’m wanting to feel out the aesthetic direction)
— Coded it using Cursor
— Built a custom editorial portal using Gemini in Google AI Studio
— Connected that to a Zapier webhook that sends each curated artwork into a Notion database
— Set up a checkbox in Notion to publish artwork automatically to the site
— Send new artwork submissions to a separate Notion database, with Slack notifications when something new comes in
— Plus a little tool to animate the hand drawn logo, which I’m unreasonably chuffed about (again in AI Studio)
