I work mainly with public sector clients in the NHS, local government and voluntary sectors, small-medium sized business and start-ups. I sometimes commission work for clients who often give me very short turnaround times! Depending on the nature of the work, I can pay immediately on completion - but, please note that for chunky commissions, ongoing work for programmes/projects etc. you may be invoicing my client directly and I am not responsible for payments if you do invoice the client. That said, the public sector always pays... eventually :-)
