Dear Sir or Madam,
Having carefully read through the job description for the position of Copywriter, I believe I meet all of the outlined criteria and wish to submit my candidacy for your consideration. I currently work in the Heritage sector where I am responsible for designing new exhibits, delivering guided tours and lectures. I am a highly qualified Masters graduate capable of producing highly accurate and well written reports. Having recently taken over the duties of our outgoing marketing officer I have discovered both a liking, and aptitude, for Marketing and communications.
To provide some further information on my current role with the Cheshire Military Museum I am responsible for developing, and maintaining, relationships with schools as well conducting guided tours through the effective implementation of our education programme. As a part of the Museum's commitment to life-long learning I also engage and build relationships with clubs, groups and societies in order to maintain an active relationship between the local community and veterans, as well as personal histories of the local Regiment. I believe I can easily transfer these skills across to any office environment where regular contact with clients or managers is necessary.
As mentioned above I have recently been tasked with taking over the duties of our outgoing Marketing Officer in order to advertise new events and maximize income generation for the Museum. My success in this role has led me to be appointed as an ad-hoc Liaison Officer for Cheshire Military Museum in meetings of the Museums of Cheshire West Group which enabled me to maintain and develop influential stakeholder contacts. A key requirement of the role has been to deliver a number of presentations to assist in promoting a range of initiatives designed to increase the awareness, and contribution, of local soldiers to the history of the British Army and its various campaigns. Upon completion of the necessary research, these presentations were delivered to local dignitaries, military personnel and community groups.
In regards to IT skills I hold an ECDL qualification and have a basic understanding of marketing software such as in-design and other software such as photo shop. As with many people of my age group I am a user of social media websites and it is this skill that has seen me placed in charge of updating the Museum website and social media accounts in addition to creating a blog on Word Press. My past experience as a Data Gatherer and Data Analyst with telephony training and MS Office training packages should also prove useful.
