Dales Life has been established for 25 years and is an independently owned magazine, firmly rooted in the Yorkshire Dales community. It is 100% focused on Dales businesses, working tirelessly to promote them, and encouraging its readers to support them. An amazing 80% of the advertising is repeat business, and several of the magazine’s clients have continued to advertise since the magazine started.

The first time I ventured into magazine design was in 2005 when the then editor was looking for a temporary graphic designer to work on the magazine’s Autumn 2005 issue. The magazine had been going for nearly 9 years at that point and already had a legion of fans, despite evolving its design and identity since its beginning, still retained its deep roots in the soil of the Dales.

Unfortunately I was only able to work on one edition before I found permanent work near London. By that time the magazine had found another designer to take over.
