"The Caterpillar girl" is my short graduation film, which is still in progress. It highlights the themes of suppressed identity and stereotypes facing post-Soviet feminism. I reference the story of my own upbringing, as well as the interviews with the other Easter-European women who emigrated from Belarus. The short film highlights the topics of the stereotypical representation of women in my society and the desire to leave your "cocoon" and your past in order to transform into the truest version of yourself.
