ABOUT

CHALLENGE:
RingGo was already the UK's number one parking app — 16 million users, 477 cities, 300,000 downloads every month. The numbers were impressive. The behaviour was not. A significant share of downloaded users never became active users: they downloaded the app once, used it once or never, and drifted. The product had solved every friction point in urban parking — no coins, no meters, no tickets, remote time extension — but the behavioural habit had not been formed. RingGo was winning the download race and losing the engagement war.

The brief was double: continue driving new downloads while simultaneously converting passive downloaders into habitual, loyal users. Two audiences. Two objectives. One campaign that could not alienate the existing base.

IDEA:
Make parking stress the villain — and RingGo the obvious, effortless hero. The campaign platform, "Stop Spinning Around", used the universal visual metaphor of circular tyre marks — the anxious, repetitive loops of a driver hunting for a space — as the emotional trigger for everyone who has ever lost time, missed a moment, or paid a fine because parking defeated them.

The creative system was built on a library of "No More" declarations: No more coins. No more tickets. No more rain and queues. No more rush. Each No More maps directly to a specific product feature, making the campaign both emotionally resonant and rationally clear. The visual language — aerial drone shots of cars in parking lots, bold all-caps typography, RingGo green as a punctuation of relief — created an instantly recognisable campaign world deployable across every channel and format.

Contextual executions placed the message exactly where the stress occurs: a Flea Market closing in one hour with no parking in sight. A car spinning in frustrated circles. A rainy day, coins, a machine that doesn't work. RingGo appears not as an app ad, but as a solution arriving at the exact moment of need.

MY CONTRIBUTION - CREATIVE DIRECTOR:
As Creative Director, I responded to the brief for RingGo with a full dual-objective campaign strategy — from creative concept and audience segmentation through to channel architecture, engagement path, user typology framework, and media model. My contribution covered:
-Campaign concept & creative platform: I developed "Stop Spinning Around" as the central campaign idea — a phrase that works literally (the car going in circles) and emotionally (the stress of urban parking). The visual system was built around drone-shot aerial photography, maximalist typography, and the RingGo green as the moment of resolution. Every execution was designed to land in context — near parking lots, at markets, in transit hubs, on mobile.
-Dual-objective strategy: I separated the campaign into two tracks operating in parallel. Track 1 targets unaware and lapsed users with push-led attention and consideration media. Track 2 targets downloaded-but-inactive users with pull mechanics — personalised incentives, geolocation triggers, and loyalty rewards — designed to convert the one-time download into a weekly habit.
-5-user typology & activation model: I built a segmented user framework — from active heavy users through to complete non-users — each with a specific incentive mechanic and reactivation strategy, detailed below.
-Engagement path architecture: I designed a four-stage funnel — Attention → Consideration → Conversion → True Engagement — mapping media type, tactic (push vs pull), and audience profile to each stage. This framework ensured every pound of media spend was directed at the right behaviour, not just reach.
-Media model — Paid, Owned, Earned: I structured the media mix as a three-circle model: Paid (ads driving reach and downloads), Owned (web, blog, social content sustaining brand narrative), and Earned (press coverage, user advocacy, organic social). The intersection of all three is where the campaign generates compounding returns.

Engagement path — 4-stage funnel model:
-Attention
All media · Push.
-Consideration

-True Engagement
Social only · Pull
