ABOUT
CHALLENGE:
Venezuelan cacao is acknowledged by the world's finest chocolatiers as the best on the planet — yet Venezuela had no premium chocolate retail brand capable of competing at the level of the Parisian Maîtres Chocolatiers who depended on its beans. The product was extraordinary; the brand architecture was nonexistent. There was no experiential retail concept, no fully traceable identity from tree to bar, and no platform that could introduce Venezuelan cacao to the global luxury chocolate market — from the Salon du Chocolat in Paris to boutique retail in Amsterdam — as a brand worth seeking, not just a commodity worth buying.
The deeper creative challenge was building a brand with three simultaneous personalities — morning, afternoon, evening — that could share a single identity, a single space, and a single name without losing coherence across any of its three expressions.
IDEA:
Name the brand after the three states of human experience — and let the retail space live inside all three simultaneously. HEiH is the acronym of Heaven, Earth, and Hell — and the dot over the lowercase "i" is the precise moment between them: the pause, the breath, the pivot. Every letter is a world. Together they are one brand that morphs across the day, the light, and the mood of whoever walks in.
The brand philosophy is framed as a journey: COCOA SEED → TRANSFORMATION INTO CHOCOLATE → BARS AND DRINKS. The raw cacao bean it´s the root of everything— dense, clean or dark, full of potential. Processed with precision, it becomes in chocolate gold. Placed in the right hands, shaped into a product with Venezuelan origin, traceable provenance, and sensory depth — it becomes in an experience even more enriching than coffee. The entire value chain is the brand story.
Morning — Light
HEAVEN
Natural light, pale tones, open air. The soul of morning.
Cacao-based drinks · Light bites · Fresh & botanical. A place for pre- or post-workout at the gym with Morning Raves as a healthy experience.
Afternoon — Earth
EARTH

Proteins · Nutritious gastronomy · Natural juices & pairings.
Night — Fire
HELL
Dark lighting, DJs, intensity. The pleasure of the forbidden.
Spiced cocktails · Mix drinks · Cacao-infused spirits.
Brand manifesto — three worlds, one truth:
"Heaven is the limitless sky you reach for. Earth is the extraordinary home you stand on. Hell is the fire that makes you feel most alive. Welcome to all three. Welcome to HEiH."
MY CONTRIBUTION - CREATIVE DIRECTOR:
As Creative Director, I conceived and built the complete HEiH brand universe — from naming philosophy and logo design through to retail concept, packaging system, stand strategy, audience architecture, and the Salon du Chocolat Paris launch plan. My contribution covered:
-Naming & identity concept: I created the HEiH acronym as a multi-dimensional naming device — four letters, three worlds, one dot that holds them in balance. The Golden Circle for the brand: WHY — to change the world of cacao. HOW — trading unique flavours with full traceability and best-in-class post-sale service. WHAT — the best cacao on Earth, bar none: Venezuela.
-Three-world retail architecture: I designed the concept of a single retail space that undergoes a full transformation across three day-parts — lighting, music, menu, mood, and brand register all shift from Heaven (morning) to Earth (afternoon) to Hell (night). The same address, three completely different experiences.
-Bean-to-Bar traceability system: I built the full brand architecture for the product vertical — from HEiH Beneficio and HEiH Terra (sourcing and processing cooperatives in Venezuela) through manufacturing to retail. COCOA SEED → TRANSFORMATION INTO CHOCOLATE → BARS AND DRINKS backbone frames the journey from raw bean to finished bar as a story of transformation and craftsmanship. Every HEiH bar carries Venezuelan Denomination of Origin and certified traceability, with individual packaging skins designed per cacao variety.
-Packaging & product identity: I directed the packaging design system for the bean-to-bar retail range — each chocolate bar with its own visual skin reflecting its cacao variety, origin region, and flavour profile, all unified under the HEiH visual language: black, gold, and the three world colour registers. (Designed by Alfredo Benedetti AD).
-Audience segmentation & stand strategy: I profiled HEiH's four target audiences — Maîtres Chocolatiers (the rockstars of the craft who demand the finest origin cacao), Bean-to-Bar producers (artisan makers seeking provenance and price integrity), Small Business manufacturers (cobertura buyers seeking long-term supply contracts), and Journalists/Trendsetters (the influencers who shape the global fine chocolate conversation). Each audience received a distinct engagement approach within the HEiH stand framework.
-Stand experience formula — A²T²D²: I created the proprietary stand engagement model: Approach & Affability → Talk & Taste → Dive & Deal. A six-step organoleptic journey from first contact to signed order, designed to turn the HEiH stand at the Salon du Chocolat Paris* into an experience unlike anything else on the floor at the Porte de Versailles.
*Salon du Chocolat · Paris 2017 — World debut
HEiH's inaugural global appearance at the world's most prestigious chocolate fair — Porte de Versailles, Paris. The stand was designed as an immersive brand experience for Maîtres Chocolatiers, Bean-to-Bar producers, and specialty press. First contact with the European market for Venezuelan cacao under a fully designed brand identity.
