I was fortunate enough to be contacted by Yamaha Music UK to temporarily join their team and help give life to StageMix, a remote controller for their M7CL mixer. The brief was to make it attractive and sophisticated while still maintaining it very simple and "easy to read", being usability a primary concern. There was some experimentation with shapes and colors, but we ultimately agreed on the use of realistic textures and lighting to give StageMix the look and feel Yamaha were after.
