About me
Graphic Design is ‘my key' to the secret garden, my
looking glass, my vision into reality.
I graduated from Camberwell College of Arts with a BA (Hons) degree
in Graphic Design. The 4 years academic experience gained from my
degree and Foundation in Art & Design, combined with over 3 years
commercial experience have provided me with strong roots for my passion
for creativity and development. The process of problem solving,
transforming a brief into creative and effective communication mediums
has struck me as intellectually challenging.
The recent years has seen my interest in graphic design and
eLearning grow and mature. My experience as a graphic designer and
eLearning design & developer has provided me with valuable scope
and experience in key sectors of the IT and Advertising industry.
My employment to date has been heavily dependent on technical
capabilities to design and develop innovative and effective eLearning
solutions, just as much as time management and organisation skills
working within a multi-disciplinary team and individually. I have
continued to design and develop quality and engaging eLearning
materials using award winning eLearning authoring tools for a wide
scope of multilingual end users. Overall this has given me the capacity
to utilise various software packages and LMS systems which include,
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Professional, After
Effects, Premiere and Flash, eLearning authoring tools, Adobe Captive,
Microsoft PowerPoint, Kallidus LMS by e2train and Campus LMS.
Furthermore, my earlier occupation as a freelancer has enabled me to
work closely with small businesses in developing an identity to help
establish them in the market. This has given me the advantage of
valuable experience and confidence managing projects, clients and most
importantly expanding my skills and knowledge base. In addition this
has provided me with exposure to web tools, such as HTML, XML, CSS and
Action Script. It has also given me commercial experience in
branding/logo concept & development, design of websites, graphics
for broadcast, leaflets, newsletters, adverts and other marketing
material.
I wish to look towards a future in continuing a career in the
graphic design industry. Graphic design is all around us, seen, read
and within the fabric of our everyday communication. My projects pivot
around strong reasoning, purpose, innovative forms, clarity and economy
with a hint of playful humour that inform viewers and target audiences
effectively. I am seeking a role which offers opportunities for career
development and progression. I am confident that the experience gained
over the years has enabled me to efficiently employ my design skills to
communicate, inform and allure a target audience. This has proven to be
a most effectual vehicle for translating inner vision to outer
reality.
