The brief for this project from the client was to create a warm, homely and festive feeling.

The approach I took was to research current trends inline with competitors in the food sector. I decided the pictures should have a moody feel, warm colours and contrast to portray the richness of the food that is eaten at Christmas time. I used props that are common to the theme of Christmas such as candles, soft lighting, wreaths, holy etc. I also used a shallow depth of field to draw the viewers attention to the appeal of the dish.

This resulted in a body of work that oozed the feeling of Christmas that makes the consumer/reader want to cook the recipes for their family and friends.
