ABOUT
Briefed to design a coloured stone collection that would resonate with both GCC and Western markets while encompassing a wide range of price points, I created ‘Kanzi’ — a celebration of history, craftsmanship, and colour.
The collection draws inspiration from the splendour of ancient Egypt, particularly the story of the first known sequin. When Tutankhamun’s tomb was discovered, small gold coins were found sewn into his garments — tokens of wealth and divine status to accompany him into the afterlife. Centuries later, this idea evolved into the modern sequin: faceted metallic discs adorning clothing with light, movement, and expression.
In Kanzi, this evolution is reimagined through the language of fine jewellery. Each piece captures the spirit of adornment and status, featuring a central hexagonal gemstone — a nod to the iconic sequin shape — elevated within a diamond-set frame. The result is a collection that bridges past and present, uniting cultural heritage with contemporary elegance and universal appeal.
