When I was younger I loved to flick through picture books, watch animations and endlessly doodle. This soon progressed into my own passion for visual storytelling, and I have continued to develop my ability to translate words to pictures ever since. In 2016, I graduated with First Class Honours in Fine Art (painting and drawing specialism) from Ulster University.
I use my background in Fine Art to explore and expand upon traditional techniques in children's illustration, with a mix of ink, gouache, collage and Photoshop making up each image. My illustrations are recognisable for their distinguished shapes, bright colours, patterns and unusual landscapes/ backdrops. Currently, I work in collaboration with my dad, writer Robert E. Wilson, whose work is based upon stories he invented as a child.
