ABOUT
At Edvard Munch’s large retrospective exhibition called "Munch Exhibition: Soul’s Cry That Resonates," held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, aircord took on the technical producing and production of a special exhibition video called "breathe/feel/suffer/love" alongside video director takcom.Munch expressed movements of the human mind on the canvas, and he left in writing, “No longer shall I paint interiors with men reading and women knitting. I will paint living people who breathe and feel and suffer and love.”
The "breathe/feel/suffer/love" that aircord was involved in is a video work that drew inspiration from these words. By feeding the brushstrokes and artistic effects of Munch’s works into a technique called neural style transfer, based on neural networks, the swell of the various emotions left by Munch in his works was reassembled into an animation.
