ABOUT

At "NO SALT RESTAURANT," an event to experience “electric taste,” a study by Dr. Yumi Nakamura of the University of Tokyo, an “electric taste fork” designed and developed by aircord was used.

An “electric taste” is the taste that people feel when electrical stimulation is applied to the tongue. By controlling taste with factors other than food, it is believed that it can be used for health promotion purposes, such as reducing the salt content in food.

During the event "NO SALT RESTAURANT," visitors had meals while applying stimuli to the tongue by means of a fork-like device. As a result, even with meals that contained no salt at all, they had a dining experience where they did not feel its absence.
