ABOUT

The film is inspired by the concept that this eye which is located inside of the book is looking outwards into the world. And from this point of view, everything in scope seems vivid and clear. In the film, there is a three-dimensional 360-degree screen. In the 360-degree world, the subjects can see the world entirely. The audience who watch the film can only see the 180 degrees or one dimension.
With regard to the body, human beings exist in the world. This world is earth. It is made of the elements including sand, air, and life. And this screen is a representation of the world. Inside of the screen, the darkness is the sand, the light is the air, and the movement is life, which is the birth and death of people.
Many people often complain about why they are not from a good background. They, in essence, blame their status in life on their parents. “It is because of my parents why I am like this” or “the reason I am such and such is because my parents forced me into it- I did not have a choice”. However, what the film is actually saying is that we, the subjects of the film, actually have a choice. Physically, a birth is when a sperm meets with an ovary. Out of millions of sperms, only one actually gets to fertilize the egg. Spiritually this is a condition of fate. It is as if the sperm and ovary are able to communicate and thus choose each other. In the pre-natal stage, we were the ones who actually chose our parents and at the same time, our parents selected us. Through that decision, we came into being. Hence birth is a mutual selection between the child and the parents. We are born as children so what we should do is to live the life that was given to us.
Parents not only give us life as well as accompany us into the world but also stay surrounding us until we grow up. There is a saying that ‘once a child, twice a man or a woman’. Figuratively this is to say that one experiences childhood twice and adulthood once. When one is born one is naïve and has to grow up. After this one becomes independent. Subsequent to this independence on then, through regression becomes naïve once more again. However, the relationship that exists with one and the parents grows stronger over time. When they (the parents) or we die, there is still that connection and sense of existing together no matter what plane we may be on. At one very special time of the year, Christmas, the world should be at peace and full of happiness. This is why I chose to remix the Christmas song to be used in the ending music. I hope that all death results in another birth, and every year, we are still here. Death cannot be avoided, but we may potentially confront reality positively.
In order to do this, we must first look within. Inside of us is where we will find a child, which is our original self. It leads to what the film eventually desires to convey: that the inside is the outside and the outside is actually the inside. The 360-degree world and the screen are that reality and this is why the observers are able to understand birth and death.
