ABOUT

The Box was my final year project for my BA Hon's. The task was to create a project that would solve a problem, to create something that would benefit people. I knew I wanted to do something to help families today get back to how it was before mobile phones, computers and the internet took over their daily lives. I wanted to reunite families and to get them back making memories. However I soon realised that no amount of; flyers, posters, advertising campaigns would reach these families because people pay more attention to their phones. So I came up with the concept to create a website and mobile app that only wanted you to use them when you are with your family.

The Box would be a organisation that holds weekly competitions with tasks aimed at getting families to participate together, making memories together, and if their submission won they would win a prize that would be another way of getting them to spend time together; theme parks, wilderness getaways, etc.

To create this project I decided to hand draw every aspect of it, I wanted to make it look like a children's note book, adding hundreds of small illustrations to the website, by keeping children engaged with the website it meant that they would be more willing to participate and spend time with their family.
