ABOUT

Objective: To create the collateral look for the inaugural Urban Food Awards show which celebrates the best of the best in food and drink made locally by London small producers.

The Urban Food Awards honours the best of the best in food and drink made or grown specifically by London-based independent producers. Brought to you by the London Food Link and The Mayor of London, this show also focuses on producer commitment to overall sustainable practices. I was tasked to create backdrops and advertisements for the event with a simple directive: "Here's the logo, London is the focus, make it urban/Banksy-like." I blended stencil-style icons of London and culinary iconography and repeated them in a flowing mural that spread across all 4 separate panels of the backdrop. Since local was the major part of this, I included the London skyline to compliment the iconography. Lastly I superimposed the designs on a white brick wall to push the urban look and ended up with a stunning mural-like aesthetic. I was the only person working on this project, which meant designing the collateral, conducting necessary photoshoots, manipulating photos, working with the printers to manage print and delivery, and installing the collateral in the venue space.
