ABOUT

The aims of this project was;
-To see how furniture can be used as a tool
-How nature can be implimented into design - without the use of physical nature such as plants this adds to maintenance costs and may need harmful chemicals for the upkeep.
-To encourage people to move away from the desk

After concluding that Biophilic design needs to be implemented into furniture design in my dissertation "Is it beneficial to have nature in our lives? Investigating the implementation of natural attributes into design" the biophilic soft seating range includes a number of biophilic design attributes.

The design has a high seating position and firm cushioning to enable good posture. there is a desk to wrk from with interregnal power options and there is no back rest so people don't get too comfortable - people recognised the piece is to be used for short periods of time.
A pull out box can be used as either a coffee table or flipped to be used as a stool for collaboration.
