I am writing to you with regards to the Front End Web Developer role as advertised on creativepool.I feel I possess the skills and experience that match your criteria, and would be grateful if you would consider me for the position.

After studying Graphic Design at Halesowen College and Visual Communication at Birmingham City University, I progressed into a full time designer role. My current employer is a web design company that focuses primarily on e-commerce. My current duties include designing, implementing and maintaining websites for a wide portfolio of clients. Due to the high volume of clients at various stages of the design process, it is also vital that I maintain project documentation and prioritise my workload on a daily basis to meet strict deadlines.

Although I entered my current role with little coding experience, I quickly developed the technical skills and expertise necessary for working on front-end web design projects. These skills include writing HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript code (including jQuery) in an organised and standards-compliant manner. I have also worked with a diverse selection of e-commerce related platforms including eBay, Magento Go and Bigcommerce.

Outside of work I have also been able to apply these skills to a number of web and photography projects along with maintaining my own portfolio via a content management system (Wordpress). I have also created a blog, which I believe is a valuable resource for both my own personal development and as a resource for others. I believe it is important to keep up to date with the latest advancements in technology, so I frequently use a number of different sources and mediums in order to develop these techniques in my own projects. I have increased my skill set with a number of online tools and tutorials, and through online courses such as Codecademy; in addition to improving my knowledge of HTML, CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript, I have taken the opportunity to begin teaching myself PHP and other server-side technologies.

Prior to my current employment at Frooition, I worked as a Checkout Team Leader at Tesco. This position allowed me to develop key communication and management techniques on a number of levels. I am able to confidently communicate and build relationships with a wide variety of people and am able to solve issues quickly and effectively.
