Dear Sir or Madam,I am interest in a digital design position. As a motivated, hard working and dedicated graduate with a willingness to learn, I am extremely interested in a career in design, and I feel that this position will give me a valuable insight in to this field, whilst granting me the opportunity to gain experience and expand my awareness of what is required to begin a career in digital design.I believe that the skills I have acquired as a student; receiving the highest possible grade for Fine Art prior to my degree and gaining a 2:1 in Interior Architecture: Design & Practice from Oxford Brookes University, will be extremely beneficial for this position. As an Interior Architecture student, my studies centred round the importance and representation of spatial design within architecture. As a consequence, I have developed my spatial awareness and representational skills through the use of digital media, and I am able to approach tasks in an innovative and imaginative manner, which I feel are essential skills for a position that will require me to bring a client’s ideas to life through the art of digital design.In addition, I am organised, able to work to strict deadlines and possess exceptional time management skills due to the pressures of working to a demanding university schedule. An example of this is the independent 10,000 word research project I conducted in my final year of university, which I successfully completed with little tutor support, providing me with a mature and self reliant attitude to work. Furthermore, over the past few months I have been working for The Original Studios, an independent video game developer, where I have been appointed lead level designer on the new comedy first-person shooter entitled Elementary School Warfare, which we are hoping to get published. Here I manage a small team of designers with the aim of creating a strong spatial experience. My keenness to learn can be displayed through the array of software I have taught myself, most of which I utilised to benefit my studies and a tutoring service I setup, teaching Photoshop and 3DS Max, to help support myself financially at university.
