About me
I have read with interest details of the position above, and attach a copy of my Curriculum Vitae to support my application for the role.
Since leaving University I have been instrumental in starting my own
business, working as a Freelance Designer from home handling design briefs from two main clients a fashion photographer and a Design
Agency. However, my passion now revolves around EDITORIAL DESIGN and I have undertaken several contracts recently with VOGUE, HOUSE AND GARDENS and PROPERTY WEEK, working with Art Directors and their teams to produce designs to strict deadlines. I enjoy sharing concepts with others and have a natural enthusiasm and creativity in this field.
Throughout 2010, I undertook internships with fashion magazines such
as, ELLE DECORATION, RED, etc in London, where I gained the opportunity to learn Editorial Design by supporting the Art Director, Art Editor and other designers by compiling/designing page layouts and contributing fresh ideas, selecting images from
contact sheets, uploading pictures for repro and assisting picture
desk in picture research.
My Visualiser experience was mostly gained in India where I held
full-time positions with Percept/Hakudodo AMO and IBD. Many clients were high profile and included Nissan X-Trail, BJN Group of Hotels, Godrej Tea and the Biggest Loser - a reality TV show. The design briefs encompassed corporate identities, mug designs
for the Cricket World Cup, posters and direct mailers.
I am an Applied Arts graduate, graduating in 2006, with Illustration
as my specialization. My communication and computer literacy skills are strong. I have had extensive use of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash and CorelDraw, together with MS Office applications. I am proficient in both Mac and Windows operating
systems.
I am not afraid of hard work and have a positive attitude towards
problem solving. I am an honest and genuine person, in good health with an interested in sketching, nature and badminton.
I am also reliable, passionate about my work and flexible in the
approach to a suitable employment opportunity. I have a portfolio of designs I would be very willing to show and discuss with you should this be of interest.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Aasawari Bapat Kale
