For 25 years the Design Museum has championed creative thinking and inspired problem solving, celebrating the talent of the world’s best designers and architects.
Hold were asked to produce the marketing for the Designers in Residence 2014 show. The theme of the show was disruption - almost invariably considered a bad thing. We coined the strapline Challenging Convention, which was adopted for all the marketing material. We produced a number of poster concepts, each with a subtly different take on the idea of disruption. The chosen concept was a series of dashes interrupted by a single x. This evolved into a series of icons that represented each of the chosen designers projects.
Although our remit didn’t include a number of aspects of the show, we submitted alternatives for the show logo and other collateral which, although unused, were warmly received.
