ABOUT
Long time partners and shoppable video believers, Ted Baker weren’t the first to experiment with unconventional video formats and with the rise of 360º video, Ted just wanted to do it right.
‘Meet the Bakers’ was a creatively-charged ‘new season’ campaign to promote the new product range through the suburban utopia on ‘Tailor Street’. The fashion brand wanted to develop a cohesive and broad digital campaign that helped tell the story of the Bakers while showcasing the adventurous apparel designs. Meet the Bakers was a plan to allow consumers to enter a fun and explorative environment while encouraged to buy products.
360º video was considered a perfect medium for viewers to navigate the Bakers’ neighborhood and home, but ensuring viewers could act on impulse and buy what they saw was the fundamental key objective.
A shoppable 360º video experience had never been done before and that required an entirely new approach to interactive video and pushing to the extreme the capabilities of mobile devices.
Hotspots appear throughout an immersive 360º video that allows the viewer not only to discover more about the Bakers and their clothes but to seamlessly and intuitively navigate throughout their home and neighborhood in a way that has never been done before.
Making 360º interactive give the VR experience real value and purpose and Meet the Bakers is a perfect example of a beautifully crafted video experience that is a vehicle for an engaging and commercially successful campaign.
The experience generated unprecedented press interest, with articles appearing in top marketing and design sites ranging from the The Drum, Creative Review and Campaign.
