ABOUT

The Red Seeds Film Festival, a female collective based at the Black Arts Forum in Handsworth, North Birmingham, approached me in October 2021 to design an illustrative eflyer and brand identity for their festival. The festival celebrates Black African Diaspora Women's independent/arthouse films, animation, and music videos, showcasing their stories and diverse cultural perspectives as female film-makers, screenwriters, directors, producers, and lead film actors. Red Seeds wanted the design to be earthy, West African inspired, and filmic, with the color red symbolizing sacrifice, prosperity, and vitality in many West African cultures. I created an arresting and emotive image and design that attracted and represented many.
