Adam Ryan, Head of Pentawards, commented: “After such a difficult and challenging year for so many people, we have truly been inspired by the vast array of creativity and innovation we’ve seen from designers, agencies and brands around the world. This year’s shortlist represents the very best in global packaging design talent right now and is a testament to the resilience of creativity, design and the packaging industry to achieve incredible things, even in difficult times. Congratulations to all shortlisted entries. We can’t wait to reveal the winners later this year.”
This year’s awards feature the Pentawards’ first ever Sustainable Design category, which has been established to help push the boundaries of sustainable packaging design. 51 entries have been shortlisted in this category by a specialist jury panel made up of 5 experts working across sustainable packaging design.
The 5 Sustainable Design jury members join the wider Pentawards jury panel of 40 design experts from over 20 countries, including representatives from 16 brands (such as Amazon, General Mills and P&G), and 24 design agencies, (including Pearlfisher, Superunion and Taxi Studio).
