ABOUT
“It is a myth that rape is an inevitable part of conflict”, Angelina Jolie stated in her address to the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict 2014. Sexual violence is one of the unacknowledged horrors of modern warfare, affecting untold victims each year. But how do you get the world to take notice?
We developed a global campaign that connected with a universal audience to gain support and help end sexual violence. It was simple but compelling with direct quotes from the testimonies of victims and an uncompromising visual style. When the graphics were projected onto the Colosseum in Rome they demanded attention.
The campaign identity was launched at a three-day Summit on Sexual Violence in Conflict, in London. This was the largest gathering ever brought together on the subject, with 1,700 delegates and 123 country delegations, including 79 Ministers. The Summit agreed on practical steps to tackle impunity for the use of rape as a weapon of war, and to begin to change global attitudes to these crimes.
