ABOUT
The brief was to improve the PHM Group website design, but the PHM website needed more than just a visual makeover. It had many usability and performance issues, such as inconsistent layouts, broken pages, text-heavy content, slow page load times, and poor responsiveness across desktop, tablet and mobile.
I wanted to do the following:
• Conducted user research to understand the needs and pain points of the PHM website visitors and stakeholders.
• Created wireframes and prototypes to test and iterate on design ideas that would improve the navigation, layout, and content of the website.
• Conducted usability testing to measure the effectiveness of the user interfaces and identify areas for improvement.
• Implemented visual design principles to create a beautiful and engaging user interface that followed a consistent design style guide
• Optimized the website for accessibility, inclusivity, and performance on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Ensured that the website was easy to update and maintain by using best practices for web development.
Here are some specific examples of the improvements I made:
• I created a single-column layout for mobile devices that made the content easier to read and navigate.
• I implemented a design style guide that ensured that the website's branding and visual elements were consistent across all pages.
• I optimized the website's code for speed, which resulted in faster page load times.
• I created a content management system that made it easy for the website's editors to update the content without any technical knowledge.
I am confident that the improvements I made to the PHM Group website have made it a more user-friendly and engaging experience for all visitors.
