ABOUT
One of eleven design students worldwide got selected and accepted into the summer school out of 20,000 applications. Only one from United Kingdom has taken part in this project. It was such an honour and a privilege to take part in this summer school programme.
During my time in this summer school I took part in intensive exploration of the Bauhaus history and principles through numerous guided tours, site and museum visits in Weimar, Dessau, and Leipzig. Inspired by Walter Gropius’ Office, the principles, ideals and teaching methods of the Bauhaus, in this two-week intensive course I designed and built a stool and a chair. With experience assistance at the wood workshop, I was able to carry out my design from the initial idea to the building of an actual wooden chair. This was then exhibited.
