In 2016, what3words was awarded at D&AD as an innovative technology with huge lifesaving potential. It gives every 3 metre square in the world an address made of 3 random words, providing a simple and precise way to communicate any location. Over the last 6 years, we have inspired both the public and hundreds of emergency services around the world to adopt an entirely new addressing system. Working with emergency services, we have developed annual awareness campaigns, press and advertising assets, toolkits, training and integrated our tech into their dispatch systems to help them save lives.
