ABOUT

The project was self set never-the-less I gave myself instructions as the drawings progressed. I started with a girl in bed based on myself, my daughter and also my young 7 yr old granddaughter who now sports similar plaits as I did so long ago. Most of the drawing see her in her bed face turned from us with the dream occurring above and around her.
The child is called my Little Girl her dreams are troubled by strange thoughts, feelings of unease and speculation.
The series/book title Last Night arose from the first drawing of Little Girl asleep in bed while a giant moth looms over her, she had left the window open! This idea then led to other thoughts of what dreams could be for a child. I had to use my own experience primarily but plan to quiz my granddaughter for more ideas.
Little Girl has the wonderful talent for dreaming of dreams which means as far as the Brief goes she can imagine whatever she feels brave enough to do so. There are limits of course in that she is only 7 so her ventures are tailored to fit her life exposure.
