LEAP has served as the managed print partner for M&G Investments for several years with LEAP’s print production experts providing ongoing support, advice, and project management. Already working together to make strides in sustainable print production, M&G Investments wanted their annual tax year end mailout to be as eco-friendly as possible.

Using renewable resources rather ink made with petroleum and heavy metals is better for the environment, so LEAP selected vegetable-based inks that were free from formulated mineral oil and cobalt. Paper consumption is the biggest concern for the environmental impact of print production, so LEAP worked with M&G to reduce the amount of paper in the pack by 36% compared to similar communication sent out the previous year. LEAP’s print division is FSC® accredited (licence number C157226), and M&G’s Tax Year End mailpack was sourced entirely from sustainable European forests.

To further reduce the environmental impact of print production, LEAP partnered with Forest Carbon to facilitate the calculation and purchase of Carbon Credits. The carbon offset for the M&G Tax Year End mailing translates to planting approximately 355 metres square of woodland in the UK. To further emphasise the commitment to sustainability, M&G shared information about LEAP’s EcoVadis silver medal accreditation with a QR code and website link on the brochures.
