Brief:
To design and produce a new visitor welcome leaflet

Concept:
The National Trusts’ Anglesey Abbey, is a Jacobean-style country house, gardens and a working watermill. Formerly owned by Lord Fairhaven, he was an avid collector, offering 1930s luxury to entertained guests, with fine furnishings, books, paintings, silver and rare clocks.

All set in 114 acres of 18th century landscaped gardens, the most fundamental part of the leaflet was to design a new map, with the aim to help visitors navigate around more easily, by offering recognisable visual cues along route.

The map was made up of hundreds of vector trees, several hedges and coloured paths, with 112 photographic statues and 27 pencil sketches. All areas were numbered with a key, icons were used for the main visitor areas and coloured blocks to give suggestions of things to do. Designed to engage and excite visitors, offering a journey of discovery.
