About me

Kishore Acharya is an award-winning production sound mixer, sound designer, and educator based in Nepal and India. He is the sole owner and founder of Roll Sound Nepal Pvt Ltd. He is an alumnus of Dr. Bhupen Hazaraika Regional Government Film and Television Institute, India.
His passion and dedication towards his work resulted in his being the first Asian to be selected for the prestigious scholarship for Media Sound Hamburg, Germany where he got the chance to be mentored by Legendary Sound Designer Ben Burtt as well as Film composer Joe Kramer. Later he was selected as a Sound fellow in Asian Film Academy Busan.
Kishore has worked with Legendary filmmakers like Nabin Subba and Tshering Rhitar Sherpa to new wave filmmakers like Deepak Rauniyar and Min Bham who took Nepali cinema to an international audience.
His work on Avashesh -The Remains by Manoj Babu Panta and Song of Clouds by Ankit Poudel have been highly praised by the jury at International film festivals.

In addition to his work in Sound, Kishore Acharya is a filmmaking mentor at British Council Project "CAMARA SIKA". He is also a Visiting lecturer for sound design at Oscar International college and Nepal Film campus. He is one of the committee members responsible for the syllabus creation of Bachelor in Film Studies by Tribhuwan University. Currently, he is preparing for his workshop "Give Sound A Chance" to educate filmmakers in Nepal about the importance of sound. He is about to release his own sound effects library "Sounds Of Nepal".
