ABOUT

Jump recently cooked up new logo animations for all three of the popular BBC culinary competitions produced by Shine TV.

MasterChef, MasterChef: The Professionals and Celebrity MasterChef.

As well as the opening logo animations, Jump delivered background textures that are displayed on screens in the studio set. This includes countdown clock designs which appear to remind the chefs of how little time they have left.

Harry Handyside – Art Director at Jump:

“For MasterChef, we returned to its iconic red palette and the idea of the logo as a heated hob element. Fire became the driving force behind the animation, bringing the M-Swirl to life with a residual glow that feels rooted in the act of cooking itself. This approach keeps the identity true to its origins while helping it sit cohesively alongside the atmospherics of the other series.”

HH: “For MasterChef: The Professionals, we built the visual identity around white marble with copper-gold veining, topped with a polished gold and copper M-Swirl and title treatment. The combination of materials feels refined and confident, reflecting the precision and skill of chefs working at the highest level. The dry ice reveal adds a smooth, controlled sense of drama, giving the sequence a calm but unmistakably premium atmosphere.”

HH: “For Celebrity MasterChef, our animation design was guided by the personalities of the cast. The glowy-gold M-Swirl and a bright teal-marble backdrop were chosen to match their energy and charisma, with light, particle, and bokeh effects adding vibrancy and presence to the animation. The result is a title card that feels both premium and alive, reflecting the essence of the celebrity experience, as well as feeling comfortable as a texture in the new set design.”
