Julian Roberts gave a lecture I attended about his subtraction dresses he had designed. This was in relation to a project we had to do entitled under the microscope, creating our own subtraction dresses using five metres of plain fabric and five of print. I created my print initially by experimenting with patterns made using brusho, batik, fabric paint and various media, then uploading and further experimentation of images on photoshop in order to create a full five metre print on fabric. The subtraction dress was made using all of the fabric and just cutting the bodice shape and shapes to be sewn together.
