A complete set of Lithuanian litas banknotes of all denominations, created
for numismatic collectors. The packaging concept and release are
dedicated to the Year of M. K. Čiurlionis.
The design of the packaging features contrasting paper textures and strict
geometric forms, which together create a stylized traditional Lithuanian
distaff motif. The central visual accent is a die-cut distaff window, through
which the portrait of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis—featured on the
1000 litas banknote—is revealed.
The key aim of the packaging is to present the numismatic set not only as a
collectible of monetary history, but also as an aesthetic object in itself—
adding standalone value, knowing that collectors tend to preserve
packaging along with its contents.
The outer sleeve is made of handmade paper, which contains shredded
fragments of decommissioned litas banknotes, giving it symbolic and
material significance. The inner envelope is crafted from Keaykolour Holy
White 300 gsm paper, combining UV printing with silkscreen techniques for
a refined tactile finish.
In accordance with numismatic standards, each banknote is individually
sealed in a protective plastic sleeve, ensuring its preservation and
authenticity.
