As the trend for brands to establish their own in-house creative team continues, we peer over the fence of three established teams who have made a real impact on the businesses they sit within.
During this event we will be joined by three experienced in-house creative team leaders. Ashley Wilson, Head of Campaign and Creative at Gymshark, Paola Bersi, Program Lead, Creative X at Facebook and Julia Arenson, Head of Creative Operations, The Agency, Specsavers, who will all be sharing their “creative stack”. We will be lifting the lid on how they are set up, how they innovate, produce and deliver work to the tools and technologies they favour.
In conversation with Emma Sexton, we will also be finding out how things have changed in response to 2020, how they develop the team, nurture talent and what’s next…
About our speakers
Ashley Wilson, Head of Campaign and Creative, Gymshark Ash joined Gymshark in January 2018 as Head of Campaign & Creative where he's working with the senior leadership team to build a future-proofed in-house Brand Studio. Prior to Gymshark, he was Head of Brand at Myprotein, where he set up the brand strategy & calendar for all brand, product and cultural moments globally. At Gymshark, he has built the team up from 8 creatives, to 11 teams comprising of creative, copy, design, artwork, video, edit, production, styling, studio, retouch & a PMO.
Paola Bersi, Program Lead ,Creative X, Facebook Paola has been working in creative agencies for more than a decade when she joined Creative Experiences at Facebook. Paola started working in a small creative agency in Italy and then moved to Paris working on award winning campaigns for Wrangler. After a couple of years it was time for a change again: she moved to London working in well renowned agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, gaining experience in different types of industries such as automotive (Toyota) and spirits (Chivas Regal). Another move, this time to Amsterdam, followed; where she lived for a couple of years till moving back to London and entered the tech industry, first at R/GA (working on the Google account) and finally at Facebook, where she set up the international Creative X team and is now growing it.
Julia Arenson, Head of Creative Operations, The Agency, Specsavers Julia joined Specsavers in September 2019 as Head of Creative Operations where she's working with the senior leadership team to build a future-proofed in house agency. Prior to Specs, she was Head of Creative Production at VCCP Blue where she helped treble the agency in size and build integrated creative and production departments. She's worked on brands such as Kimberly Clark, Compare the Market, Molson Coors, Macmillan, Kellogg's and HSBC. Julia has also held positions at JWT, Leo Burnett, a bakery, a law firm, a health clinic, a paper route and various lemonade stands.
