ABOUT
The challenge
The latest edition of adidas’ iconic running shoe, UltraBoost 20, was created as part of a ground-breaking partnership with the International Space Station U.S. National Laboratory. To launch the shoe, adidas wanted a retail experience in their LDN flagship that marked this new era of innovation and collaboration. Highlighting the shoe's evolution and the future of sport performance.
Making it happen
As our first retail takeover since adidas’ new LDN flagship opened, we needed to continue and elevate the excitement from the store’s launch. Inspired by the ISS partnership, we created innovative and experiential spaces for consumers to learn more about BOOST technology and the UltraBoost itself. At the store’s entrance, we installed an interactive spaceship with branded space helmets. This main launch zone created a tactile experience for consumers. Allowing them to get hands-on with the shoe’s materials and feel the energy return of BOOST. We also created an out-of-this-world photo opportunity with spaceship-style bucket seats and helmets. The secondary launch zone focused on giving consumers a chance to try the product like never before. Guided through the test space by pulsating chevrons, consumers discovered a unique way to test the shoe - an anti-gravity treadmill. Set in front of a large digital wall, consumers were encouraged to experience the thrill of running in anti-gravity through the moving space content on the wall. The space exploration theme continued to the product landing zones, with lunar modules and flight cases displaying the products. Asteroids, BOOST balls and space helmets were suspended from the ceiling to create impactful areas.
Client testimonial
"You have taken the 4D installation and raised the bar. I loved how the consumer could interact with the tech benefits of the product through touching the Boost. I loved how interactive the whole launch zone was" - Ruth Ryan, adidas Senior Director Omni-Channel Marketing
