Sussex Craft Week is a new week-long event that aims to celebrate craft and showcase the wealth of creativity in Sussex: its makers and making. During 14-22 June, visitors will discover exciting craft exhibitions, events, demonstrations, open workshops and courses across Sussex, Flagship exhibitions at prestigious venues inspire visitors, while a series of talks, tours, demonstrations and classes engage the wider public.

While the original Arts and Crafts movement favoured a more decorative approach to typography, I chose a Bauhaus-inspired style, characterised by geometric shapes and a deliberate lack of ornamentation for the main typographic block forming the letter C, with the stencil approach serving as a nod to Josef Albers and Joost Schmidt. The typeface used for Sussex Craft Week is a refined version of Lydian, adding a touch of calligraphic grace to the design.
