ABOUT

My holocaust memorial project "11 Million Hands for 11 Million Lives" is an ongoing project I started in September 2013 as an attempt to humanise the enormous loss of life of all the estimated 11 million Jews, Jehovah's Witnesses, Poles, Roma/Sinti, Homosexuals, disabled people, political prisoners, Africans, Roman Catholics and other peoples killed by the Nazis in World War Two.

In my project, each hand photo represents one individual and all hands will represent the estimated 11 million people killed by the Nazis. I've been asking people from all over the world, all ages, all races, all religions and all lifestyles to send me a photo of their hands so I can try to bring communities together and set aside our differences to become one human family focused on peace and an understanding how to properly value all human life regardless of who we are, what we look like, where we come from or what we believe in.

In an effort to further have my project do some good in the world, I've linked it to the charity, War Child UK so that future exhibitions/events connected to my project will generate funding towards children who are in dire need now in today's world where wars are interrupting young lives.

The reason I ask for hands to be posed palm side up and cupped open is to convey a universal message of peace to the dead they represent as well as hope to the children they will help.

My project is ongoing and will take me many years to complete and its success is only dependent on how many people I can reach and not how long I intend to live.

Since I began my project, I've endured a great deal of doubters and hate mail from all kinds of people and I can assure you that each doubter and hater has only inspired me to succeed so further hate mail will only serve as fodder for the fire. I will succeed and I will reach all cultures and peace will be well earned.

To follow my project you must google: "11 Million Hands for 11 Million Lives" and you'll be directed to the project page.
