‘Type’ is a supposed conference dedicated to the international typographic scene, in past and present view, taking place at CCCB, in Barcelona.
To promote this event, the choice was for a more experimental and dynamic solution, able to summarize the important focuses about the theme: readability, communicability, language of play, avant-guarde and new tendencies. The occasion suggests alternative realisation channels, as the ‘scanner art’: distorted typography is achieved by using a scanner, moving a print on the device board. The combination of movement and image recording gives shapes to random, unique solutions, with surprising effects. The blurry, deformed lines come as a definitely remarkable peculiarity, that reconsiders the ‘mistake’ as symbol of identity, that cannot be repeated.
