ABOUT

Klaus' bust technical report:

-requiring of the customer:
The customer requires the realization of a sculptural portrait in 1: 1 scale.

-tecnical issues:
The stylistic choices of the client presents differents technical problems that have been overcome thanks to the use of 3D design.
For the bust was made request of a joint sistem site at the neck with the purpose of enabling separated the head from the torso.
The system must be as hidden as possible and appear as a natural fracture.

-3D scanning and digital modeling:

The first steps were performed using as a reference a tridimensional scan of the subject. The forms were first cleaned of defects and reshaped through z-brush according to a synthetic and finished style.

3D-print and finish:

Subsequent to modeling the subject has been prepared to the 3D print and divided into 10 portions, consistent with the volume of the printing plate. Once printed the portions have been bonded and bodied with acrylic putty and sandpapers of different grains in order to obtain a flawless surface.

-Moulding And realization of the final model:

Once the model was ready it has been moulded with a special high fidelity siliconic rubber. The molds were then used to cast the chosen material (plaster) getting the final model.
