ABOUT

The costumes that I have designed for my cinematographic project called " Old and New Upstarts", a novel based movie scenario, cover both Eastern and Western clothing fashions of Europe. The action of my scenario takes place in 19 century Romania, a country struggling to keep its contacts with Western Europe, while paying financial tribute to the Ottoman Empire. In capital Bucharest, the old noblemen dress in oriental clothes, while the young gentlemen, with visionary ideas powered by the French Revolution, start dressing in french fashion and going to carnavals and dancing parties.
