These portraits of refugees were created in collaboration with Dudley College of Technology earlier this year, as several of them were enrolled on the college's ESOL course. The aim of the project was to create a powerful series of images which captured the resilience and humanity of these people while highlighting the wider discussion surrounding refugees who have give n up everything to start a new life in the UK. The paintings initially featured in a large exhibition at Dudley Archives, while the portrait of Mansoor was also included in this year's RBSA Portrait Prize exhibition at their gallery in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
