One of my favourite childhood santuaries was an adventure in the woods. Being from the Highlands of Scotland there wasn't a short supply. The sights and smells, colours and patterns were abundant. One of the organisms that fascinates me the most is mushrooms and fungi, which is the inspiration for this body of work.

The Lamella is the gills found on the underneath of a mushroom, so I wanted to create a range of work that had the same linear qualities, but were also colourful and organic.

Each of these pieces are completely unique, with no two being similar. I like the way the layering of colour creates this beautiful patternation.
