CAROL WILSON-FRITH CEO/Creative Director

ABOUT

Concept:
The Products:
The brief was to create a cabinet product series and accompanied film which would develop Carmen Constantine into a brand synonymous with luxury, innovation and high-craftsmanship. To explore the sensitive use of wood, wire and complementary materials with traditional and modern technical processes. To also explore and focus on the marriage of rich organic materials, shapes, design construction, natural human silhouettes and the powerful elements of human touch. To encapsulate metacognitive creative thought visually and tangibly by creating customised pieces for males and females symbolic of extensions of themselves and expressions of their design needs. To redefine the popular storage aesthetic typically used for storing and displaying accessories, jewellery, fragrances, watches etc.

2. The Film:
An associated film was then decided upon to further capture through movement the objects’ quality, functionality and connection between the human and product elements. To visually express how the enduringly popular industrial storage aesthetic can dwell in our desired interior spaces as both objects of beauty and functionality, serving invaluable purpose as extensions of ourselves and housing our cherished possessions. To enable online global recognition and exposure of Carmen Constantine's product series.

Executed by Carol Wilson-Frith (Designer/Maker), Nicky Regelink, Pieter Van Lier and Gary Nurse (Film), Cog Productions studios in London and Baarn, the Netherlands.

Results:
This brief was met by capturing through film - product relevance, metacognitive design, innovative and robust wood engineering, intricate wire-stitch detailing, textures, grain, fluid shapes, functionality, technical processes and the complex furniture construction of the Carmen and Male product series. The series consist of drawers, shelving and mirrors, showing the enthralled human touch that brings about connection on many levels. Enabling the aesthete to experience up close beautiful silhouettes and the evolving of organic, rich materials through nature into beautiful objects of desire and timeless craftsmanship. Both products and product film enhances audience experience, defining the strength of a woman and man's abilities as limitless, resilient and sensual. Intended for global reach and website engagement.
