Large hard cover collectible book for lovers of vintage film posters.

Specific edition for Italian Horror Film posters from the exclusive collection of collector Paolo Zelati. The text had English and Italian translations side by side.

These designs show the concept I created from scratch which was to be used across a series of 13 different books full of vintage collectable film posters.

Along with the layout of each page, cover design and long text design, I also chose the fonts, designed the typography and created all the fine details on chapter cover pages and page number details.

This book was not completed to print because a large selection of the original poster scans supplied were not edited to a high enough quality to match the collectible status and quality of design that such a book deserves.

Professional photography of each poster, set up in an exact frame (no moving) either laid flat or pinned up and shot with specific lighting to stop glare and shines needed to be done.

Or specific and intricate high resolution drum scanning of each poster panel, then extremely high-end professional photoshop editing and stitching together of the poster panels needed to be done.

Sadly because the poster collection is so huge, this was not done, but instead the process was rushed through with rudimentary photoshopping showing editing marks and other issues.

Thus Korero Press could not continue with the project as the client didn't agree it was an issue and to have fixed it all properly would have required an insurmountable budget and professional production team.

Overall, standards must be kept high for the final hard cover books to be professional quality to be promoted and sold to collectors around the world. Supply of badly photoshopped images which are uneditable, thus requiring original posters to be re-scanned again, alas does not allow this to occur.
