ABOUT

First made by Celtic craftsmen in Gaul, then improved by the Romans, this was the typical legionary helmet used from the middle of the first to the beginning of the second century AD. An iron model (skull, neck guard, cheek pieces) with bronze elements (hooks, headband, rivets) was chosen for the reconstruction.

This type of helmet also has a crest holder to hold the red horsehair crest. It was worn only on special occasions and was not part of everyday life.
