ABOUT
All those buried there were male warriors. In addition to the urn, the numerous weapon graves contained swords, shield bosses, spurs and spears.
What is particularly striking about this cemetery is that the spearheads often lie pointing downwards next to the associated urns. Marking the graves with lance shafts visible above ground is an essential part of the reconstruction. In 2022, the original reconstruction of the cemetery (2016) was revised based on new research. As the reconstruction was digitally painted with different layers, the original landscape could be preserved and new pictorial elements (cenotaph, freshly laid urn graves, ritual deposits, group of people) could be added quickly and without major labour costs.
